I recently bought a new vehicle because I am worried about gas prices (and I want to be James Bond). There’s a lot of talk about energy lately, Egypt, Libya and China are all giving us energy related headlines and today I want to briefly mention personal energy.

What is your energy level?

I’ve noticed that you can pass yourself off as a psychic simply be observing someone and keying in on their energy. Are their shoulders hunched? Are they tired all the time? Are they negative? Do they mumble and sit in long periods of silence? Or are they excited, happy and enthusiastic? Energy is not hard to read, try it today. You can know an awful lot about people when you notice the energy they bring to the environment.

Energy is everywhere and absorbing some is not hard to do. I have this room to write in where I am more creative, where I find the Angels who bring flow. You better believe I tap into it. I’ve mentioned it before, enthusiasm means, “The God within”, are you plugging into something supernatural when you create, when you live, in your relationships?

Do you raise the energy in others? Do you bring energy to your work? Are you an energy supplier or drainer? Laughter brings energy, so does loving support and finding meaning in your work. Your work is a product of your energy; more is better.

In Improv, energy is critical to creating a good performance. We think of our performance on a scale of 1-10. One is dead. 10 is a cartoon. A good performance is on the energy level of about 7, somewhere in the range of caricature. Writer guy here is often found living at about 2 on that scale. I need to play bigger and not just at Improv, but in everything I do.
