At a speaking engagement this weekend in Las Vegas I met a man who fits the definition of the Affluent Artist. Mark Dahle is a very successful abstract painter who understands the business side of art. Mark is wonderful speaker and writer and his work, he says, “Is even liked by people who don’t usually like abstract art.”
A native of Alaska, Mark now lives in San DIego where he also has a “day job”. Because he has his food bills covered, Mark doesn’t have to price his work as if he is starving, so his paintings begin around $100,000 in price and they have appreciated in value over time. Mark limits the availability of his work to the public, even though he is constantly producing new work. A potential client recently mentioned to him that he wished he’d bought Mark’s work a year ago because the price had gone up and Mark asked him, “Yes, do recognize the trend here?”
As usual. the financial and self improvement writer is going to be very careful about saying anything about art, even art that he loves like this. I’d hate to say something that is less than praiseful by accident because I don’t know art lingo. So, here is some of Mark’s work:

A lot of the things we talk about regularly in this space are things that Mark gets. He has a Great website, he understand his business, he understand pricing and has certainly allowed money and abundance into his life. You can see more of his work by clicking here.
Oh yea, one of the perks of having a lot of artists friends is that they share their work with you. You know, books, CD’s etc. So Mark, good buddy, if you’d like to ship over one of those Hunnert Grand paintings give me a holler.
