The funny thing about Self Improvement and setting goals and all that stuff is that it can become a substitute for actually working on your goals. If you keep buying the next self help book, going to the next teacher or the next seminar you might be missing the point, the motivational stuff is supposed to MOTIVATE YOU TO DO STUFF!
So, today’s entry is very simple and straight forward, what can you do, RIGHT NOW to move forward towards your goals. Like Eckhart Tolle says, there is ONLY NOW. So, what can you do, right this minute? If you want to lose weight, give me 30 crunches RIGHT NOW! If you want to get better with money, write down a daily budget, RIGHT NOW and stick to it all day. I urge you, right this second, drop everything and do something towards making your goal a reality.
Don’t get caught in the “I Don’t Knows”, you know enough.
Brian Tracy, the great motivational speaker, talks about being stranded on “Someday Isle”… Don’t, you have the present, USE IT! Don’t say, “Someday I’ll lose some weight, right now, put down the Twinkie!
If you set some serious goals for this year then, let’s go, don’t let anything distract you, slow you down or get you off course. You are a machine, get in motion, nothing will stop you once you get in action. The more you take action, the easier it gets to take more action.
There is a very good chance that you will never know ALL of the facts or information about something, so quit getting stuck in the information gathering phase, get moving!
Here’s something else, if you are unwilling or unable to move towards your goals, maybe you set the wrong ones! Because, in my experience, if you have set goals that are true to your core, they are easy to work towards because your enthusiasm will be so high that you won’t be able to help it!
So today, do 5 things towards your goals, grab a mitt, get in the game, we need you on the team!
